Southern Tagalog – Nice winding roads at the tip of Cavite, beautiful beaches in Batangas, delicious longganisa in Quezon and scenic views in the Sierra Madre region of Rizal. Well come September, the Kawasaki Riders Club of the Philippines will be celebrating its 9th founding anniversary and what better way to have fun than to spend the next 24 hours on a 1000 kilometer adventure in the CALABARZON region?
Endurance rallies are not new in the motorcycling scene here in the Philippines, but the thing that makes this Rally stand out is the route – not the usual Pan-Philippine Highway of the north and south but the less travelled National Roads of Southern Tagalog. San Andres Port in Quezon, where? I hadn’t heard that place until now and that makes it more exciting! It’s like solving a puzzle while riding.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
It was 2006, when riders from nearby places in the metro who’s riding their Kawasaki made motorcycles converged in this website, www.motorcyclephilippines.com and seeing that there’s no group that specifically caters for riders that are passionate of the brand, Marvin “Cocoy” Tuliao proposed to set a group up and held the first eyeball at the Philippine Trade and Training Center parking lot along Roxas BLVD that coincided with a major motorcycling event. And the rest as they say is history with Marvin holding the club number “1” and was elected the club’s first president.
