LS2 Helmets donates to Typhoon Haiyan Victims
LS2 Helmets, one of the worlds’s leading helmet brands, extend their generous donation thru Motoworld Philippines for the typhoon Haiyan victims that devastated the southern part of the country last year.
Receiving LS2’s donation is the Saturday Posers Group (SPG), a group of motorcycle enthusiasts that have started community-building programs for the typhoon victims that is focused on shelter and livelihood projects.

Valentino Rossi, The Doctor and a Champion, Help Rebuild Lives
One MotoGP star is coming to the Philippines this month for one great cause. Valentino Rossi will arrive on February 23, 2014 just in time for Yamaha GP’s opening leg at SM Sta. Rosa. Yamaha’s Lend a Hand Project didn’t stop from the turnover of donations to the ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya Foundation. Its aspiration to help in times of great need is seen through various CSR activities.
Valentino Rossi, The Doctor, started riding at a very young age. With an aspiration to follow his father, Graziano Rossi who is a former motorcycle racer, he began racing for the 125cc category during the Grand Prix of 1996. The following year, Rossi won his first World Championship. He moved up to the 250 cc category and won the 250cc World Championship in 1999. His legacy was defined with back to back record breaking achievements. After all, he is the ONLY rider in history to achieve all four World Championship titles: 125cc, 250cc, 500cc and MotoGP. Last year, Rossi reunited with his old Yamaha team, where he is seen to accomplish more victories.
Yamaha’s charity effort called “Champions Rebuild Lives” is proudly sponsored by Yamaha Motor Company Ltd., MotoGP, Yamaha Racing Academy and Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. Racing legend Rossi encourages everyone to help by purchasing discounted and Limited Edition Yamaha Racing items like jackets and shirts which were donated by the MotoGP team. The Doctor Helps Rebuild Lives
Valentino Rossi has officially landed on the Philippines last February 23, 2014. He came to help support Yamaha’s Lend a Hand Project. This charity effort aims to raise funds to help the victims of those affected by Typhoon Yolanda.
Rossi’s arrival was very timely for the opening leg of Yamaha GP 5 which was held at SM City Santa Rosa. Before the race officially began, a press conference was first graced by the Moto GP legend Valentino Rossi, Yamaha Motor Philippines Inc.’s President Toru Osugi, Sales General Manager Romeo Tan, Corporate Support/Corporate Services/Logistics General Manager Alfredo Lejano and Marketing Section Manager Ryan Jude Camus. Discussed during the press conference was Yamaha’s CSR activity to help rebuild the lives of Typhoon Yolanda victims. This effort was made possible with the support from Yamaha Motor Company Ltd., Yamaha Motor Racing, Moto GP and YMPH.
After the brief discussion, Valentino Rossi went out and greeted the riders who participated in the most-awaited racing event in the country, YGP 5. The Doctor also thanked everyone who has supported Yamaha’s charity effort. Yamaha Club presidents and members who attended the event grabbed the chance to have a photo op with their number one idol. .
Valentino Rossi’s presence together with YMPH’s new president, Mr. Osugi, signaled the beginning of the race. To make YGP 5 more special, Valentino Rossi has changed to his racing suit to ride around the laps where our local riders battled it out for a podium finish. GS 700 Fun Run
GS700 is the 1st “Grip-Shift” Endurance Run open to all scooters using the alike manual shifting. Models and makes such as Vespa, LML and Stella with any displacement are welcome to join.
The Endurance Run covers 700 kilometers starting from Metro Manila all the way to Bicol and will finish at Legazpi City. The route covers 6 main check-points that will pass Manila – Lumban,Pagsanjan, – Gumaca, Quezon, -Sipocot, -Camalig Bicol, -Irosin, -Legaspi City.
The objective is to become a Finisher within a 24 hour time frame without any accidents along the way. Awards will be given to Finishers along with other safety equipment, stickers, plus freebies for all participants.
A free trucking transport will be available for the scooters to return back to Metro manila courtesy of the organizer. Discounted hotel booking assistance will also be available. A welcome finisher treats will be prepared at the finish and more…Participants fee is P2,500.
This event is organized by Granstar Motors with the support of our good friends from Petron Philippines and our dealer MotoBicol.
