As the country slowly brings back the activities after a 2 year struggle with the pandemic, Yamaha Motor Phils., opens welcomes the 2022 racing season with a two-punch combo as the new YZF-R15M and R3 were formally launched in the Race Your Flag, Filipinos! event held at Carmona Racing Circuit in Carmona, Cavite. Strict health safety protocols were observed, requiring vaccination cards and temperature check from the participants to ensure that everyone is in proper health condition.
The event was participated in by the new breed of Yamaha Racers who will represent the country in the next international races. Along with the racers were select members of the Yamaha Aerox Club and well-known Moto vloggers. The participants were provided with hygiene kits and were given proper orientation as to how the event is going to proceed. During the orientation, the new Yamaha YZF-R15M was introduced to everyone and each feature of it highlighted as everyone will have a chance to test ride the new YZF-R15M.
The new YZF-R15M is powered by a 155cc LC4V SOHC F.I. VVA engine. Giving the R15M enhanced horsepower. Its performance is also enhanced with and Assist and Slipper Clutch, Traction Control System (TCS) and Quick Shifter which is the first in a Yamaha single-cylinder bike to allow quick, smooth, clutchless, full throttle upshifts.
The new aerodynamic body design is derived from the prestigious R-Series DNA which provides high speed stability. It is also equipped with single bi-functional LED unit emitting both low and high beams. The new LCD instrument panel displays the newly added indicators for shift timing, the TCS, individual turn signals and more.
The YZF-R15M is by far one of the most comfortable sports bike around with the inverted front forks to provide better shock absorption. Dual Channel Anti-brake Locking System (ABS) is also equipped to provide maximum braking control. Wide rear tire is measured at 140mm to allow better grip on wet or dry surfaces. As added safety feature, the engine does not operate when the side stand is down.
The YZF-R15M is available in two color variations: Icon Performance with an SRP of P189,000 and the Anniversary White (WGP 60th Anniversary edition) with an SRP of P193,500. Both are available in the Yamaha Flagship Shop, the YZone. Also in Yamaha Revzone and 3S Shops nationwide.
