ZIC motorcycle oils uses VHVI base oil which means very high viscosity index, It is also a high quality 4 cycle engine oil made in South Korea, engineered to provide excellent bearing and piston scuffing protection, it also guarantees better performance, lubrication, and oxidation stability .

Benson So (EVP & COO KTM Philippines) said

“We all know that viscosity is the single most important physical property of a lubricant. It is a crude measure of a lubricant’s molecular constitution from the standpoint of hydrocarbon chain size. Viscosity is determined by creating friction between the molecules from fluid movement. The higher the intermolecular friction the higher the viscosity. Therefore I trust that ZIC lubricants will work really well with our factory race bikes and also our daily rides.”

Cabanatuan – Tricycle Capital of the Philippines

I had a wonderful stay at the Amada.  The place is nice and has a lot of artworks ready to be appreciated by hotel guests
The City of Cabanatuan is teeming with 3-wheelers, thus it's dubbed as the Tricycle Capital of the Philippines (or of the world for that matter). After the launch of the Kawasaki H2R in Kawasaki Leisure Bikes Nueva Acija, I felt like it's still early to go home and decided to look around the place. So at noon, I found myself roaming around the city.
The Amada Plaza Hotel.  This is the same hotel were I met Mr. Robin Padilla!
Sungka!  Been a while since I last saw this game!
The portraits of father and mother of Dr. Rene Odulio of Wheeltek.  The Odulios are instrumental in making the Cabanatuan the Tricycle capital of the Philippines selling business models, and it is now the main mode of transport for the people of the city.
Of course don't ever go home without sampling their garlic-y Longganisang Cabanatuan!  Yummy trust me!
This is a bar actually.  I would love to go in on one of the nights.
At the Wheeltek showroom!  Yey Honda!
Speaking of red horses...
Good thing the main road of Cabanatuan is wide.
I sincerely thank the hospitality of the Odulios.  You have a wonderful city and I had a great time spending my day just roaming around zigzaging with the colorful tricycles of the place.  I look forward to spending another weekend there!

Taylor rides in Asia Talent Cup

$

Got this from a message in Motorcycle Philippines Facebook page from Lee Washington of Maxman.TV

At 13 years old most of us were probably racing motorbikes in video games, but Australian teen Lachlan Taylor is doing the real thing. Lachlan is an up and coming young rider from Queensland and is at the Shell Asia Talent Cupto compete in six events and 12 point-scoring races across five countries. He’s the first Australian to do so.

The Cup, which takes place across Thailand, Qatar, China, Japan, and Malaysia, is where riders aged 13-18 from across Asia can compete against one another and hone their skills, setting themselves up on the path to a career in competitive road racing. Lachlan is by far the youngest rider in the group.

What makes Taylor’s achievement even more remarkable is his relative inexperience when it comes to road racing. He’s been doing it for less than a year.

The video, from Maxman.tv, follows Lachlan on the track as he discusses his love for the sport which started when he was just 7 years old.

Although only young, he’s full of ambition and big plans for the future. “I have always liked to make it as the Moto 3 champion, but we’ll see what happens and I will try my best,” he says. “If it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen, but if it does that would be awesome.”

Compared to the other riders in his group he looks so young and when asked about his chances in the first race his Asian competitors don’t hold out much hope for him finishing the race, let alone being any kind of rival.

But by the end of the competition their attitude has completely changed towards the pint-sized Australian as he proves that size doesn’t matter, but skill and determination definitely does.

Keep an eye on Lachlan Taylor, i have a feeling he’s going to be a big name in this sport one day in the not too distant future.

We almost did it! Official World Record-Attempt on Largest Road Safety Lesson

DSC_0033

May 24 2015, Manila Philippines – Up to 2,500 riders converged at the Quirino Grandstand to be part of the Guinness World Records attempt for the “Largest Road Safety Lesson” held in one place.  In partnership with the Department of Transportation and Communications, Suzuki Philippines and Ropali Motorcycles, Motorcycle Rights Organization headed by Jobert Bolanos together with various motorcycle clubs spearheaded the event.

Riders, as far as the Bicol region in the south and Ilocos in the north also attended this historic event.  Also present in the festivities is DOTC Assistant Secretary Dante Lantin, in which he reminded riders of the importance of safety riding and arriving home unharmed. The event was hosted by Jobert Bolanos and Sexbomb Louise Bolton, whom together with her group made the afternoon temperature even hotter with their dance performances.

The Road Safety Lesson was officiated by Mel Aquino of Moto 360 and Ropali Motorcycles with the help of Suzuki Philippines’ Noel Villapando as they demonstrated the proper way of braking, steering and riding the motorcycle. Also, they showed to riders the importance of wearing safety gears whether it’s a short or long distance ride.

Richard Stenning from the Guinness World Records verified the total number of riders present, which unfortunately didn’t surpass the previous Largest Road Safety Lesson that was attended by 1917 participants in Abu Dhabi UAE on Oct 10 2011. According to him, the gate admittances totaled at 2080, but 294 partakers either went out or left during the actual Road Safety Lesson leaving only 1786 in attendance – just 132 individuals short to beat the current World Record. Grabbing the top spot may not be for us this time, but one thing is for sure: those 1786 riders can now impart their knowledge to other riders and will make our roads safer by the day.

Suzuki Raider J 115 FI

Ain't she a beauty?
The market is ready If there's one indication that the motorcycle market is growing and maturing, it's the inbound and influx of fuel-injected motorcycles.  FI's are not really new, as they, more often than not, are already integrated to bigger displacement bikes, even years before today.  Now that the people are becoming more convinced that FI bikes will not only be a thing of tomorrow, of today, lucky more them more choices are available at the market to choose from. One brand who is not afraid to brandish their fuel injection motorcycles is Suzuki.  One of their FI bikes is the Suzuki Raider J 115 FI. 1115? Why It's Just the right amount of displacement!
If you're like me. who'd rather "be seen" than "be heard", then the Raider J115 is just the kind of motorcycle you're looking for.  The displacement of 115 (113 to be exact) is strategically made to be able to come up with a more powerful bike than 100cc's and a tad more efficient than 125cc's.  As if that's not enough, the FI tag in it makes sure that you get the best and most efficient gasoline consumption in every twist of the throttle.  As Suzuki claims, it can squeeze 63 kilometers from just a liter of gasoline.  It may not bring you GSX-R speeds, but its easy riding nature will have people appreciating the bike.
Out Of the (Rizla+) Blue
Suzuki has always been associated with the color blue.  The regular color blue.  Until a "joint" partnertship with a brand with a unique brand color.  Get it?  Joint?
One of the most iconic color the Suzuki ever put in the MotoGP is the cyan-ny light blue, due to its partnership with Rizla+, makers of rolling papers used for tobacco and marijuana.  Suzuki has since embraced this and came up with the Rizla blue as a color variant for the Suzuki Raider J 115 FI.
Yes Rizla+ is fashioned with a "plus" sign indicating the family name of the founders Lacroix, french for "the cross".  Oh and Rizla+ is also one of the oldest companies in the world tracing back to 1532 when Pierre Lacroix traded his rolling paper.  Yes you can check Wikipedia for that!
Embracing the color.  Suzuki tore the tarmac with the Rizla Suzuki MotoGP bike.  The color is one of the most recognizable and has since adopted as a motorcycle color option for the Suzuki Raider J 115 FI.
Riding Impression

Being an underbone guy, I know very well that semi-automatic bikes IS the best bikes in terms of shifting configuration.  It eliminates the use of the manual left hander clutch levers, not only freeing our left hand of it's task in riding, but also, taking one item away to worry about.  Perfect right?
As for the handling, the Raider J 115 is ultra-maneuverable.  It's light, it's easy to manhandle but that doesn't mean it's no road-worthy. Even though it weighs light, it performs on the road well.  Cornering may get a little getting used to, especially if you're coming in from scooters or standard bikes.  But after a few bends, you'll be leaning like Espargaro. I traveled from Manila to Kalinga to get to know what the Raider J 115 FI is all about.  Definitely, it's about the efficiency of riding an underbone coupled with a fuel injection engine.  It's about injecting in the correct amount of petrol into the engine as far as the sensors are concern including the one in the throttle, always computing how many cc to burn depending on the precise twist degree of the throttle. Recommendation?
If you're looking for a speedster, go get the Hayabusa.  If you want a more affordable speedster, go get the king of underbones the Raider %150.  If you want to have a no-nonsense reliable bike that has a full tank that will yield you more than a hundred kilometers in one go, go get the Suzuki Raider J 115.
The Raider J 115 FI at one of the mountains of Kalinga
Minamilist panel, so you could focus on the road, not on it.
At the foreground is its older and much powerful sibling, the Suzuki Raider R150, hailed as the king of the underbones.
I had much fun using this no nonsense but fun entry-level fuel injected Raider J 115 FI.  So efficient and fun to ride, and very comfortable.
And before I forget, Suzuki has a promo of free Suzuki helmet and a Spalding sportswatch for every purchase of the Suzuki Raider J 115. All the Features of the Honda Click FI, but the Frugality of the old Honda Beat

That is the promise of Honda's newest scooter, the Honda Beat FI.  MOA's Music Hall became witness to the launching of the one of the most awaited scooters from Honda.

In totality, the Honda Beat is the best selling scooter in the world.  But that is not the case here in the country, as another manufacturer holds on to that niche.  But with what the Beat FI can offer, it's gonna be hard for them to hold on to that.

The day started at 4pm with a 3 on 3 basketball competition.  After some hardcourt action from the finest young gunners, the streetdance competition ensued.

Thank you so much Honda!
