TVS Apache Experience | Wheeltek

What is missing on your usual test rides? Well, they’re confined on small parking lots and you only go around a small course with some traffic cones. Not too interesting. Last weekend, TVS aimed to do something different. Something that motorcycle enthusiasts could really feel and do especially on a perfect Sunday.

So it was a perfect Sunday at the Martessem Mountain Resort in Tanay Rizal where about 200 riders converged for the TVS Apache Experience 2017. The star of the event was the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, a 200cc naked motorcycle from TVS and distributed by Wheeltek, who astonished motorcycle enthusiasts that flocked the famous “Marilaque” road or the Manila-Rizal-Lazuna-Quezon highway with their motorcycles due to its winding roads.

The Yamaha Mio – Ride Your Story Grand Fans Day with James Reid and Nadine Lustre

The Mio Ride your Story campaign swept through the country with Mio Motorcycles alongside ambassadors James Reid and Nadine Lustre. The message is one of encouragement; that a person’s individuality is their greatest asset in their pursuit of passion. To celebrate the many stories that has been shared with Yamaha in the different corners of the Philippines it was only fitting to celebrate with a Grand Fans Day.

The Mio sporty, Mio i 125, Mio Soul i 125 and Mio 125 MXi stood tall as vessels of individuality and riding passion at The Market! Market! Activity Center which was filled with hundreds of people as they awaited another display of excellence by Yamaha.

The event was hosted by the tandem of VJ Chino and VJ Ai who provided the fun during the Mio Mini Games and got the crowd all revved up for the program. The performances started off with some pulling of the heart strings with Spoken Poetry Artist Mai Mai Cantillano and her popular piece “Sa pagitan ka natagpuan” and debuted an exclusive poem “biyahe” which was inspired by Yamaha.

For some romantic sernading, the crowd got all the sweetness they wanted and more from Tj Monterde who sang his hit songs from his self titled album and covered popular songs as well. One of the highlights was a song that included one of his fans on stage.

The big moment of the night was the arrival of Yamaha Mio Ambassadors James Reid and Nadine Lustre. As they came on stage they sang “Til I met you” and “Closer”. The top-trending couple answered some personal questions in game that tested how much they knew each other. From who is the sweeter one, its Nadine. To what James is scared of the most, it’s the movie “It Follows”. They judged performances of fans who re-enacted their scene in the Mio Ride your Story commercial and gave their supporters some love as they signed exclusive event posters.

The night was full of love , a fitting theme for the month of February. Such a celebration becomes another milestone but this story of Yamaha is only the beginning. – YMPH

“KTM ANNOUNCES GROUNDBREAKING 2-STROKE FUEL INJECTION ENDURO MACHINES.”

That heading, in all caps, is written exactly as I read it in the e-mail waiting for me when I returned from lunch. All I could think about was how lucky I was that Lemmy is at Bike Week in Daytona working on his tan and getting into trouble on big American-bred cruisers. He would have never let me hear the end of this.

Carmona, Cavite – To settle the score between Mickey Mazo and Romer Corbe, Yamaha Motor Philippines hosted an 8 hour endurance race not on the streets, but on the safety and confines of the Carmona Racing Circuit where Team Corbe bested Team Mazo with a combined total 1450 laps in 8 hours against 1380 laps for Team Mazo.

THE AWARDS
“Champion ako!” said Romer Corbe, who led Mikey Mazo individually with 346 laps vs 339 for the latter. “Sa lahat ng pumunta maraming salamat sa suportang binigay nyo sa amin” he added.

Kyle Paz, who had the best lap of the 8 hour endurance race with only 55.3 seconds riding a Yamaha NMax grabbed the Fastest Lap Award and took home P20,000.00. When asked if he could do another hour after riding full swing for 5 hours, Kyle replied “hindi na” with a big smile on his face. The Fuel Efficient Award went to Team Mazo burning a total of 54.22 liters of gasoline for the whole 1380 laps in 8 hours.

PRELUDE
Mickey Mazo and Romer Corbe battled in the infamous $20,000 illegal street race up in Marilaque (Marcos Highway) after a heated argument on social media with fans taking sides. That time, Mazo emerged victorious after taking the lead at the last curve.

ENDURANCE RACES OFF THE STREETS
Motorcycle endurance events are everywhere these days. Unfortunately, no matter how organizers brand it as “not a race”, they still become a race at some point where some participants finish at ridiculously low timeframes and to accomplish that, they ride at speeds beyond what the law allows. Yamaha Motor Philippines said they aim to take these street races (including all forms of illegal street races) off the streets and to the  confines of the racetrack where there are no pedestrians crossing or other vehicles using the road and this race is only the first of many endurance races (in the racetrack) happening  in the future.

Manila, Philippines, March 27, 2017: The Honda group of companies in the Philippines led by Mr. Daiki Mihara, President of Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI), the manufacturer and distributor of motorcycles and power products, Mr. Toshio Kuwahara, President of Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), the manufacturer and distributor of automobiles, and Mr. Yasuharu Ikida, President of Honda Parts Manufacturing Corp. (HPMC), the manufacturer of engine parts and transmission, officially announced the One Honda Road Safety program thru a public launch at the Honda Safety Driving Center, in Sucat, Paranaque.

Attended by guests representing government agencies, the academic sector, industry organizations and private companies as well as the combined two-wheel and four-wheel media, the program symbolizes a partnership of Honda together with the society to help reduce road accidents in the Philippines. The group introduced “One Honda Road Safety” program to unify and guide Honda operations for road safety promotion to the same direction of building a community of safe and responsible road users. This event marked the kick off for all project partners who aim for the same goal of reducing road accidents which is the major concern for every sector.

Honda worldwide has always been committed to safety as expressed in its Global Safety Slogan “Safety for Everyone”. Taking this mission to the operations in the Philippines, various traffic safety promotions and initiatives have been continuously implemented by the group. However, as the toll of traffic accident is increasing sharply, Honda, as the leading mobility company, would like to help solve the problem by expanding its road safety activities in partnership with different sections of society.

To realize this goal, the Honda group of companies introduced a unified and synergistic road Safety program called, “One Honda Road Safety”, to all of Honda’s businesses while collaborating with the project partners.

The One Honda Road Safety campaign carries the theme ”Road Safety For our Family”. It focuses on three major thrusts: educate the public to become safe and responsible road users; promote vehicle safety technology thru actual customer experience; and collaborate with concerned sectors of society. Piloted in July 2016 in each of the three Honda companies internally, One Honda Road Safety is now ready to expand externally, starting with the two industrial parks where Honda manufacturing plants are located. This will then move out farther to cover the communities of Sto. Tomas and Tanauan, Batangas and Sta Rosa, Laguna where the Honda facilities are situated. The ultimate goal of this Road Safety Program is to provide safer roads for the society by reaching and educating as many road users in the country.

In a related activity, the new lobby of the Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC), which played host to the event, was likewise formally inaugurated. The HSDC remains to be Honda’s centerpiece public facility that directly promotes road safety though responsible motoring and education. The HSDC also promises improved and more accessible services for its customers as the country’s only world class driving facility which offers basic and comprehensive driving training for two-wheel, four-wheel and even trucks. Also, to be opened within this month are safety driving facilities at the newly renovated flagship shops of Honda in Cebu and Davao.

All these efforts by the three Honda companies resonate with the words of its founder Mr. Soichiro Honda, himself: “as long as we are handling a mode of transportation, we are entrusted with human lives”. One Honda Road Safety is definitely one step towards Honda’s ultimate dream of a collision-free mobile society – where its customers and everyone sharing the road can safely and confidently enjoy the freedom of mobility.
